ELISA Kits for Quantifying Adiponectin Levels in Human, Mouse, and Rat

Redwood City, Calif. February 4, 2003—Panomics, Inc. introduces Adiponectin ELISA Kits for detecting adiponectin in serum or plasma samples, adipocytes, or conditioned media. These kits facilitate high-throughput screening, allowing quantification of adiponectin levels in up to 96 samples at once. The assays are sensitive, linear across several orders of magnitude, and correlate well with results obtained using RIA.

Adiponectin, a natural substance secreted by fat cells, is thought to lower blood glucose levels and reverse the effects of insulin resistance. Panomics’ Adiponectin ELISA Kits provide a straightforward, efficient way to quantify adiponectin levels in samples under varying conditions. This may lead to a deeper understanding of adiponectin’s role in insulin regulation and obesity, perhaps ultimately leading to therapeutic benefits for victims of Type II diabetes and obesity.
