ELISA Tests for Quantifying Concentration of Tumor Markers

Redwood City, Calif. January 10, 2003—Panomics, Inc. introduces four ELISA tests for quantitative assessment of tumor marker concentration. These tests are designed for quick, efficient screening of multiple human serum samples for antigens that are elevated in different cancers. Panomics currently offers ELISA tests for Alpha-fetoprotein and three cancer antigens (CA125, CA15-3, and CA19-9).

Each Cancer Antigen ELISA uses a pair of specific antibodies directed against a unique antigenic determination of each marker. One antibody, which coats the wells of a 96-well plate, captures cancer markers present in a serum sample; the other is linked to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) for detection. If present in the serum sample, the tumor marker is sandwiched between the two antibodies and can be quantified via HRP-based colorimetric detection. Each ELISA kit incluldes an antibody-coated 96-well microtiter plate; enzyme conjugate; protein standards; and all reaction and detection reagents.
