Alpha Innotech and Panomics Announce Strategic Alliance for Genetic Arrays

Redwood City, Calif. October 5, 2001—Alpha Innotech Corporation and Panomics, Inc. have announced a strategic alliance to co-market their respective FluorChemâ„¢ fluorescence and chemiluminescence imaging system and the chemiluminescence based membrane array products. Panomics' new Protein/DNA Array simplifies the functional analysis of eukaryotic transcription factors (TF). This array-based technology is a significant improvement over cumbersome gel mobility-shift assays, which permit the characterization of one TF at a time. With Panomic's arrays, you can profile the activities of 54 TFs simultaneously. Arrays can be used to study TF activation in a variety of biological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, transformation, apoptosis, and drug treatment.

The FluorChem imaging system from Alpha Innotech Corporation provides a digital alternative to film for acquiring and analyzing chemiluminescent labeled blots or arrays. The FluorChem generates high resolution, wide dynamic range, and instant digital access to image acquisition with automatic exposure determination with the simple click of a button and provides comprehensive quantitative analysis features for array experiments.
